PEACHTREE CITY, GA — May 27, 2020 — Dr. Lisa B. Coleman, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Georgia/Alabama Community Superintendent, has selected Ms. Jamie Pittman as the assistant principal of Maxwell Elementary/Middle at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
Ms. Pittman started her career as a data analyst before starting a career in education. As a teacher, Ms. Pittman has taught mathematics at the middle, high, and college levels. Additionally, she has worked as an assistant principal in elementary, middle, and high school.
Additionally, she worked a as program specialist for K-12 Mathematics, where she was responsible for establishing the District 5-year plan, for K-12 Curriculum Development, and for K-12 Mathematics Staff Development. She was also a district trainer for Making Standards Work, Ruby Payne’s Aha! Process, Professional Learning Communities, and was a Kagan Dynamic Trainer.

Ms. Pittman earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics at Winthrop University, and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University. She has certifications in teaching mathematics and Educational Leadership.
She is a veteran, who served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician.
