PEACHTREE CITY, GA — July 16, 2013 — Dr. Elizabeth Middlemiss, Interim Director for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS)-Cuba, announced today that Mrs. Denise Webster-Cochenour has been named principal of West Point Elementary School, at West Point, New York, in the New York/Virginia/Puerto Rico District.
Mrs. Cochenour joined DoDEA 15 years ago and was named the 2004 Teacher of the Year for the Kaiserslautern (Germany) District where she taught first and second grade German Immersion.In 2005, she joined the administration team at Naples Elementary School as an assistant principal where she was honored with the 2008 DoDDS-Europe Assistant Principal of the Year Award. In 2008, she became principal at Livorno Elementary Middle School. She moved to the Bavaria District as an instructional systems specialist (ISS) for the Early Childhood, Math and Science curriculums in 2010.

Mrs. Cochenour earned her Master's Degree of Education from the University of Oklahoma in Administration, Curriculum Development and Supervision, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.Having grown up in a military family, Mrs. Cochenour maintains El Paso, Texas, as her home of record. She and her husband, Matthew Cochenour, who is a U.S. Army veteran, have two dogs – DaVinci and Emma.
