LHS Senior to Attend Stockholm University Nobel Week

PEACHTREE CITY, GA — December 2, 2016 — Lejeune High School senior Nadia Cunningham has been selected as one of 25 participants to attend the Stockholm University Nobel Week events in Stockholm, Sweden, Dec. 5-11, 2016, Lejeune High School Principal Eric Steimel announced today. She is the daughter of Brian and Mapuana Cunningham.

Ms. Cunningham will be in Stockholm during Nobel Week when the Nobel Prizes are awarded, Nobel lectures are delivered and numerous other festivities will occur to honor the 2015 Nobel Laureates. The Nobel Prizes were established by HSHSS Chairman Claes Nobel’s grand-uncle Alfred Nobel, to honor outstanding achievement in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace.

Ms. Cunningham has served as the vice president of the Beta Club, served on the yearbook staff, is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, attended the Rotary Club Leadership Conference and volunteers at the humane society. She plans to become a teacher.
