FORT STEWART, GEORGIA — February 10, 2022 — Brian Perry, the Department of Defense Education Activity community superintendent for South Carolina and Fort Stewart, is pleased to announce Taminika Shadd as the new principal for Pinckney Elementary School at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Shadd will assume her duties on February 14, 2022.
“Dr. Shadd brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and abilities to the principal position. Her experience at C.C. Pinckney Elementary School and the Fort Jackson community will be a great benefit to our students and staff. I look forward to Dr. Shadd to leading our continuous improvement efforts at Pinckney,” said Perry.
“I am honored to be able to serve in this capacity for a community that I love dearly,” said Shadd.
Tammy Shadd is a dedicated educator with 26 years of experience. Her strengths include analyzing data and supporting teachers’ understanding and use of data to make decisions. She believes that the school and community must work collaboratively to provide a supportive and academically challenging environment for military-connected students.
Shadd joined DoDEA with 14 years of experience in the public school system of South Carolina as an elementary, middle, high school, special education and adult education administrator. She served DoDEA for 12 years in the role of administrative officer at C.C. Pinckney and Pierce Terrace elementary schools. In addition, she was the principal of Pierce Terrace Elementary School.
Shadd earned a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University, a master’s in teaching from the University of South Carolina and her doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi. She loves to travel with her husband James and their four daughters.
