Department of Defense Education Activity

Welcome back to the 2022-2023 academic year. I am excited to welcome some new staff to assist your children. There are several new teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff joining us throughout the building.

We are taking flight this year as we travel “AROUND THE WORLD”.  Our theme centers us around travel and the wonderful opportunities we have in DoDEA and the military to See the World.  Together we will SOARr to new heights in search of learning with curiosity.

Our entire staff is focused on Excellent Instruction where there is:

  • alignment of our intended goals and objectives, instructional components, materials, resources, and assessments to maximize learning for all students;
  • evidence of student learning through mastery of the adopted standards;
  • rigorous and relevant instructional tasks that are engaging and culturally appropriate for all students to include problem solving, reasoning, and reflection;
  • evidence of a continuous balanced assessment system that informs instructional decisions to meet the distinct learning needs of all students;
  • evidence of responsiveness to student learning through differentiation, remediation, and enrichment, and
  • a learning environment that is student-centered and supportive in order for students of all abilities to develop, learn and grow.

Europe Big 4DoDEA’s Blueprint for Continuous Improvement and Europe’s Big 4 provide for a coherence of effort across all levels in our region as we pursue our region’s goal of Access and Equity in Excellent Instructional for ALL Students!  As such, they are a significant source of inspiration and provide focus for our school action plan for continuous improvement.

I look forward to the year ahead and seeing how far we all SOARr together as we travel the world.
