I earned my masters in gifted 6 years ago from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. In 1989, I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with my degree in Elementary ED with a focus in Early Childhood Education. My career started late as my Navy husband took us from one spot on the globe to the next! We have logged 24 moves in 30 years! I love traveling and learning new and interesting and fascinating aspects of the world we live in!

I am beyond delighted be serving you all this year and utilizing our amazing staff to help bring an experience to each classroom that allow our students to build upon. We will be working towards creating and designing solutions to real world problems and exploring them together on STEAM Night!

DSN Phone: 318-742-3100 ext:

My name is Angela Collins. I have taught for over 20 years. I have taught all grade levels in the academic arena. I have worked in the following settings: Alternate School, High School, Junior High, Middle School, and Elementary School. I hold a Leadership and Administration Certification, ESOL Teaching Endorsement and a Certificate in Bilingual – TESOL. Currently, I am working on my Certification in Online Teaching-Administration. Besides my education and my teaching experiences, I want you to know my philosophy for teaching children. I believe every child can learn. I believe every child should be respected. I believe self- esteem is critical to the learning process and should be cultivated. I believe motivation and productivity skyrockets when students reach their goals. I believe that mistakes are feedback that lead to true learning and deeper understanding. I believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning. Please model the love of learning at home, reading to and in front of your child. Set aside a quiet, well-lit area with adequate space and supplies for your children to study. The study area should be in a place not far from the rest of the family.

I encourage you to contact me with any concerns you may have during the year. Our school number is (DSN) 318-742- 3303 or 011-973-1771-9810. Please leave a message with our school secretary, and I will return your call at my earliest convenience. I am looking forward to an exciting and challenging year.

Nicole Lahee

Bahrain ES: Instructional Support (Reading)
Local Phone: 973-1771-9829
DSN Phone: 318-742-3100 ext:5124

Hello Bahrain Falcons! My name is Nicole Lahee and I’m the Elementary School Reading Support Teacher. I’m originally from New York City, but I’m happy to be starting my sixth year at Bahrain Elementary. I’ve been in education for over twenty years and started my career teaching second grade in Fairfax County, Virginia. Since that time I’ve taught in Korea, Belgium, Turkey, New York City, and of course, now Bahrain. I’ve enjoyed the travel opportunities available in the region as well as learning about the local Bahraini culture.

Before I made the decision to come to Bahrain, I did what I always do- I grabbed a book and read everything I could about it. As long as I can remember I’ve loved reading and always have a few books currently in progress, laying in various places at home (kitchen counter, dining room table, and bedside, to name a few). That is my desire for all the students of Bahrain Elementary. Now, I’m not suggesting they leave books around the house, but I want them to love reading so much that they can’t decide which book to pick up first. My goal is for every student to see themselves as a reader, whether its chapter books, picture books, informational texts, or graphic novels. I want our school to have a culture of reading where kids have book talks outside of class and routinely share book recommendations with friends and family.  Feel free to drop by my classroom in Gill Hall or email with any literacy questions or concerns. It’s hot out there Bahrain family, so go dive into a good book!
