Transition Counselor

To help assist new students, we have a counselor available to meet with incoming students and parents. Course request sheets are also available and should be completed as soon as possible. Completing the course request sheets and submitting previous school transcripts will allow us to ensure your student has a schedule that allows them to meet DoDEA graduation requirements.

School Level PCS Checklist

School level PCS checklist of items to have before leaving your current school. Edit following list for parents as required by school:

  • Immunization record
  • Passport or birth certificate for kindergarten
  • Child's SS #
  • Copy/official transcript
  • Copy of IEP if applicable
  • Copy of withdrawal grade with grading system from previous school
  • Copy of standardized test score if applicable
  • Copy of current school schedule (HS students)
  • Copy of student handbook (helpful for our schools to interpret transcripts)
  • Course descriptions (if not in handbook)
  • Student resume or list of extra curricular activities (HS)

School Liaison and Transition Services

School Liaison/Transition Services focus is to assist family members in being advocates for their children's education and in dealing. with unique problems facing military children (PCS moves, varying school-to-school academic curriculum and schedules, varying graduation and records transfer requirements), and other major issues such as Installation-School-Community Partnerships, and Home Schooling. School Liaison/Transition Services helps connect Families, Schools and Communities.

School Transition Team (STT)

Child and Youth Services School Transition Specialist (STS) and Installation School Liaison improve transitional support for children by establishing partnerships between the schools and communities. advocating for military children, increasing awareness of the unique needs of military children, and providing a process to address and resolve military-specific education issues.

School Liaison

In the Army, the School Liaison works in conjunction with the Child and Youth Services (CYS) and the local school community to address educational issues involving military children. Through partnering with the local and military community, the School Liaison uses a variety of resources to provide assistance with issues concerning student transition. The School Liaison acts as a communication link between the installation and the surrounding schools.
