PEG304: Performance Dance-Intermediate (2022)

Students will engage in four main styles currently trending in today’s society; which include but are not limited to, Hip Hop/ Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Ballet, and Tap). Focus will be directed on four main categories: (A) Movement, Technique, and Performance; (B) Create, Compose, and Choreograph; (C) Historical and Cultural Context; and (D) Reflect, Connect, and Respond. Performance Dance is a year-long course which incorporates all four styles and components. Grading is skill, cognitive and performance-based. Performance requirements differ throughout the year, based on school, location, administration, and teacher.

Course Note: This course satisfies the Elective ( 1 of 5 credits) graduation requirement.
