SCP602U: AP Physics Part 2 (2022)

AP Physics 2 (year-long) is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. Students cultivate their understanding of Physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore topics such as fluid statics and dynamics; thermodynamics with kinetic theory; PV diagrams and probability; electrostatics; electrical circuits with capacitors; magnetic fields; electromagnetism; physical and geometric optics; and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. The Advanced Placement Program enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies - with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both - while still in high school. This course requires that 25 percent of the instructional time will be spent in hands-on laboratory work, with an emphasis on inquiry based investigations that provide students with opportunities to apply the science practices. The College Board recommends the following pre-requisite(s) or co-requisite(s): completion of pre-calculus or equivalent.

Course Note: This course satisfies the Science (1 credit-Physics of 3 credits) graduation requirement. Unweighted
