Dr. Christopher J. Racek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College while serving on Active Duty. While working on his Post-Baccalaureate Licensure he was also working towards his Master of Arts Degree. In 2003 he received state licensure and was awarded his Master of Arts in Elementary Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado. In 2008, he was awarded a Doctorate in the area of Leadership in K-12 Programs from Capella University.
Dr. Christopher J. Racek retired in 2001 as a Chief Petty Officer after a 20 year career in the United States Navy. Dr. Racek spent a majority of his Navy career stationed on ships homeported in Japan as well as a tour of duty at an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operations Center and as a classroom instructor. During his time as an instructor his passion for teaching and learning was rekindled and he became determined to become an educator. After Dr. Racek retired he began to work in schools as a substitute and paraprofessional while working on state licensure requirements. Dr. Racek became a teacher with DoDEA in 2004 teaching 6th grade, and multiage 5th and 6th grade before moving into administration. In 2006 Dr. Racek was selected to become an Assistant Principal and in 2009 he was promoted to his first Principal position.
Dr. Racek believes that DoDEA is a top-notch school system that is continually growing, learning and working to create a learning environment that is flexible to meet the needs of the stakeholders. This is accomplished while simultaneously maintaining a level of high standards and rigor that is expected of our nation's schools.
