Fall Virtual Spirit Week

Dexter Elementary will hold a Fall Virtual Spirit Week from October 5th –
October 9th.  For more information, please see the attached flyer or the list below.

Mustache Monday: Pick out your favorite mustache and wear it to all your virtual meetings!

Twin Tuesday: Dress up with your best friend or sibling and match all day!

Wacky hair Wednesday: Pick a crazy hair style and come to your meets looking wacky!

Tie dye Thursday: Wear your favorite tie dye attire to class!

Favorite Team Friday: Wear your favorite sports gear and represent your team!


Remote Fitness Club Grades 3-5

Do you enjoy exercising?  If so, join us for the Fitness Club!  We will have fun while working out and strengthening our fitness goals.  Fitness Club is open to all students in grades 3rd-5th.  Our meetings will take place on Mondays beginning at 3:45 and ending at 4:15. Dexter's MFLC Offers Groups for Students

Dexter's MFLC is offering several online Groups for Dexter students

 

Kids Unite is a group for students in Grades 2-5 who want to meet online to build friendships and talk about feelings.  Meetings will start on Monday, August 31st from 2:30-3:00 p.m.  For more information, please see the attached flyer.

 

New Eagles is a group for students who are new to Dexter. Students in this group will meet with the MFLC and talk about moving to a new place, interests and ways to connect with others.  Meetings will be every Tuesday from September 1st-22nd from 2:30-3:00 p.m. For more information, please see the attached flyer.

 

Sunshine Stories is a group for students in Grades K-2 who want to meet online with the MFLC for story time sessions with puppets and toys to teach lessons about building confidence.  Meetings will start on Wednesday, September 2nd from 2:30-3:00 p.m.  For more information, please see the attached flyer.


Ft. Benning Meals Program

Students enrolled at Faith MS, Dexter ES and Stowers ES will pick up meals at Faith MS.

Students enrolled at McBride ES and White ES will pick up meals at McBride ES. Meal pick up times are 11 am - 12 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 - October 15

September 14, 2020 Hispanic Heritage observations began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and were expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period. The expansion was enacted into law on August 17, 1988, on the approval of Public Law 100-402.

Literacy Goal

By May 2019, all students in grades K-5 will increase their achievement in Reading Comprehension as measured by the EOY Scholastic Reading Inventory and/or Benchmark Assessment System.

Math Goal

All students in grades 3-5 will increase their achievement in Mathematics on the CCRS Summative Assessment from 50% in SY 17-18 in Performance Levels 4 and 5 to 60% in SY 19-20.
