Fort Knox, KY | March 24, 2017

Christian Acevedo has been chosen as the 5th Region Athletic Director's Association Winter Male Athlete of the Year.He is the FIRST FKHS student athlete to be chosen for this award since its inception
about 5 years ago!

Christian, his parents, and Jackie Prather, FKHS Athletic Director, attended a luncheon on Wed, March 29th in Springfield where he was honored in front of the 20 schools who are members of the 5th Region!

Christian was nominated by his swim coach, Mr. Terry Turner, for this award at the school level. This award requires student athletes to hold a high GPA, be involved in a varsity team sport, and serve the community. Christian was then selected from three applicants by a school level committee to be the nominee for FKHS to the 5th Region Athletic Directors' Association (ADA). The 5th Region ADA is comprised of 18 schools as geographically aligned by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. A five member panel of the 5th Region ADA voted and selected Christian for this honor. This is the first time an FKHS athlete has been selected by the 5th Region ADA since the beginning of this award, approximately 5 years ago. The 5th Region ADA selects one male and one female athlete of the year from fall, winter, and spring seasons.
