Junior running back Kaylon Luster was a workhorse Friday night, helping the Fort Knox Eagles gain a bit of momentum for the postseason.
Luster carried the ball 21 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns as Fort Knox beat Louisville Shawnee, 46-0 at Shawnee Alumni Stadium.
The Eagles (2-8) beat the Golden Eagles (0-9) for the fifth time in the last seven games. The teams used to be in the same district before Fort Knox was moved to Class 1-A prior to 2015.
Sophomore running back Cole Wilson rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries, while senior Camron Gore had three catches for 55 yards and a score. Gore also returned an interception 50 yards.
Senior quarterback Jacob Roewe rushed for 74 yards on five carries and passed for 55 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Junior running back Maleeq Walters tacked on a 17-yard touchdown run.
Sophomore linebacker Jerome Jones picked off two passes for Fort Knox, which recorded its first shut out since a 49-0 win over Green County on Oct. 31, 2003.
