Elliott Elementary School Celebrates

Marine Corps Birthday Tradition

November 9 th was a festive day at Elliott Elementary School. The students celebrated the
Marine Corps Birthday with the traditional cake cutting ceremony.  Beginning in the morning, Lt. Colonel Millet addressed the assembly of kindergarten through second grade students explaining the tradition and history of the Marine Corps. He further explained the cake cutting tradition with the oldest serving the cake to the youngest. Elliott continued the tradition and Lt. Colonel Millet cut the cake having the oldest serving the youngest at the assembly. All students received a cupcake in celebration of the event provided by the PTO.
