A group of students from Irwin Intermediate school read a children’s book as a class, and much like other literary circles, hosted conversations and made connections to the characters within the story. As a culminating event after students finished reading, they had a unique chance to face-to-face chat with the author of their book study!
The children hosted a virtual meeting at the school with Molly Perry, the children’s author, and had an opportunity to ask as many questions as they wanted. They also were excited to listen to the many ideas of the author. Ms. Perry even asked the children to maintain a journal of ideas they could use and later share some she may even use in her next book!
