What is SLIME? The Bitz Intermediate School students will tell you it is that green, goopy stuff that their principal, Dewanda Sholar, was wearing from head to foot on Friday, March 30, 2018 on the school basketball court. Mrs. Sholar agreed to be slimed if the students raised more than $5000 for the school's Parent Teacher Association. The students were challenged to read and raise money for the school. They met and exceeded that challenge by raising $5,570.80 over a two week period of time. At different steps along the way, students also enjoyed a crazy hair day, a favorite t-shirt day, cotton candy, as well as a no uniform day for students--that day the teachers wore uniforms. The Bitz students agreed to do extra reading for 2 weeks in order to raise the money. The Bitz PTA will use the money to fund additional literacy materials and events for students. Thank you participants and sponsors!
