Fort Knox High Student Taylor Nordman was highlighted in the local newspaper in the "Tuesdays Teen" section for an unusual honor.  Taylor graduated from the Johnson Flight Academy where she learned to fly Hot Air Balloons. She was part of the first all-female cadet group in 2017 and returned in 2018 to get experience with a solo flight. Taylor passed the Federal Aviation Administration written test and was selected into the Cadet Wings Program.

She hopes to earn her license before graduating from high school in May. She said she also plans to one day earn her commercial pilot’s license.

At Fort Knox High School, Nordman is involved in track, soccer and swimming. She has been involved with track since she was 4 and with soccer since she was 6. She also is involved in the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association and JROTC at the school.
