Fort Knox | April 25, 2019
On April 19, the entire student body and staff came together to celebrate the Military Child by hosting Purple Up Day at the school. The day started with students casting votes for the First Kids Choice Awards at Fort Knox High School (celebrated on May 3). Next the students were entertained by a talent show with more than a dozen students showing their skills from piano and ukulele playing and singing, lots of solos, and a Martials Arts demonstration. There were also two staff acts, not in the contest but equally entertaining. The rest of the morning was used for each class to have a "Student Body Decision Meeting" and a class basketball tournament.
After lunch students were invited to participate in various activities to include, Face Painting, Karaoke, a DJ Dance Area, board games, and inflatables. Home Depot sponsored a workshop, the Air Force sponsored an Interactive Video area, the Army sponsored Inflatables, a football toss, and an Interactive vehicle. Snacks and drinks were provided by our PTO (Big shout out to them). There were also many college recruiters who set up information booths along with the School Liaison who had gifts for the students.
It was a great day and great way to celebrate the Military Child who devote our time to each day as we try to prepare them for their next steps after High School.
