Fort Knox Eagles’ track and field team competes in UK Indoor Wildcat Classic

Despite the tough competition, the Eagles track and field team held their own.

“The kids did great, real tough competition too” said Eagles head coach James Bleecker.
The girls’ team competed at UK’s Nutter Fieldhouse in a field of 118 runners. Sophomore Alexandra Lawson ran in the 200-meter dash and placed fourth with a time of 26.22 seconds. In the 400-meter dash out of a field of 98 runners junior Jenna Doehring placed 37th with a time of 1:06.81 and sophomore Taylor Nordman placed 40th with a time of 1:07.57.
Lawson placed second out of a field of 48 hurdlers in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.49. Sophomore Kaitlyn Cornes placed 26th with a time of 11.39 and sophomore Abby Donohue placed
34th with a time of 11.82. In the 1-mile run out of a field of 95 runners eighth-grader Claire Donohue placed 76th with a time of 6:53.66.
