Jordan Holifield, a four-time DoDEA European Golf Champion will take his high school passion for golf to the college level. On November 10th at Stuttgart High School, Holifield was supported by SHS golf coach John Bowman, his parents Chris and Janet Holifield and a small crowd of fellow students. He signed a letter of intent to play college golf for Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Upon graduation from Stuttgart High School in June, he will enter the ranks of college students, the choice was not easy for the undefeated Holifield. He had a hard time finding an ideal college that offered both a great golf program and excellent academics. Earlier this year he received a substantial offer from Southeastern Oklahoma State located in Durant, Oklahoma, to play for their well-renowned golf team.
Holifield was thrilled to be signing the letter and couldn't wait to begin college, stating, "I'm excited to go to Southeastern Oklahoma State and play with the golf team and win the Division Championship next year and earn my degree there." Coach John Bowman talked about Jordan's past performance in the sport and what he did to help his teammates become better golfers "Jordan has spent countless hours coaching and mentoring his teammates to the point where I talked to Jordan to make sure his own performance didn't suffer. The results showed clearly that it didn't." Jordan is bound to have a great future and become one of the world's best golfers.
