I walk among heroes, and I am honored. I teach the children of the men and women who have kept us free this last century - children born before, during and shortly after the attacks of Sept. 11. Most were infants, too young to remember, yet their lives have been molded around that fateful day. Circumstances they have no memory of, ideas and fears they absorbed, and historical circumstances have them cast as the children of heroes. And by that association they are heroes themselves, survivors of a hardship which they have come to know as life. These are military children, and there is not a brat among them.
