Families at Elliott Elementary School gathered in the afternoon for the “ Spring Celebration of the Arts.” Parents and students arrived for the event first stopping by the PTO Book Sale to take advantage of the opportunity to buy books for home libraries. From there families meandered throughout the halls viewing the many outstanding pieces of art displayed. The artwork was created by Ms. K’s K-2 art students and consisted of a variety of examples of the many techniques the students learned throughout the year. Each student chose his or her individual piece of artwork to be showcased. Ms. G’s K-2 music students presented a concert with kindergarten singing two songs with an upbeat message. A special selection of songs featured the performance of the first grade boomwhacker percussion section joined by the second grade recorder wind section. The concert closed with the audience, staff, and students singing together the school song.
