The 14 February 18 shooting tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, caused a lot of attention to be directed at the school's JROTC program. The accused shooter was a former cadet, for less than a year, and several cadets at the school were victims. What is becoming increasingly more evident, however, is the number of cadets who acted independently or as team members taking heroic measures to protect and assure the safety of other cadets and students.
