Louis D’Angelo named principal of Zama Middle School

The Japan District Superintendent’s Office is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Louis D’Angelo as the new principal of Zama Middle School. Louis is very excited about his new position and anticipating a dynamic year full of growth and new relationships. Before joining the Zama staff, he served as an assistant principal in Virginia and at Edgren High School in Misawa Japan. He taught English at Hickory High School in Chesapeake, VA prior to his administrative appointment. He earned a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in English from Old Dominion University in Virginia. He earned an Educational Specialist Degree and doctorate from The George Washington University. Louis is retired from the Virginia Air National Guard after 23 years in various roles. As a guardsman he deployed numerous times during his career, including two deployments throughout Southwest Asia in 2003 and 2006.He is looking forward to working with the Zama community in doing the important work of educating the children of service members while working closely with parents and fellow educators.
