Nearly 40 Fort Campbell High School students participated in 2018 Model United Nations Conference at Indiana University Feb. 23-25.
There were approximately 400 students from around the country and world, who participated in the conference.
According to Kenny Jankowski, a Fort Campbell teacher and Model UN Sponsor, the team was involved in many of the activities, including debate, resolution writing and amending resolutions. He said some students wrote and had their own resolutions passed, with eight students winning awards.
“Ms. Kesha Ladd, Ms. Tabatha Ware, Ms. Martha Speake and I are so very proud of our students,” said Jankowski. He added that they were especially excited about Kariahna Gamblin winning a Best Delegate award. “It’s the most prestigious award a Model United Nations [person] can get; only 12 out of 400 students earned this.”
