The Ramey Swim Team is back and making waves! This November, the Ramey Swim Team (RST) started its first season in over twelve years. Through the motivation of Ramey students to reignite the swimming program at Ramey Unit School, they started the season with optimism, dedication, commitment, and a determination to improve skills and work as a team to successfully represent our school.

Even though most students started the season with basic competitive swimming skills, they were hungry and eager to learn. With hard work and consistent training, these swimmers continue to acquire and improve the foundation of each stroke and event along with the skills needed to compete at the JV and Varsity levels.

In addition to training and building endurance, the team volunteered their time to repair and maintain the local pool. They recognize that swimming is not just an individual sport; it is a commitment to the betterment of each person, the encouragement of all teammates, the respect and appreciation of all support systems, and the dedication to the community and its facilities. The team has been fortunate to have additional support and expertise from Ms. Valerio, Mr. Rex Roettger, Mr. and Mrs. Aponte, and Mr. Colmenares, faculty and parents from Ramey School. In addition, RST has collaborated with the local club team Aguadilla Swim Team to gain insight and encouragement from experienced swimmers by coordinating a fun dual meet and presentation.

This team has dedicated many hours to prepare for the end of the PRHSSA Swim Season. Each swimmer has embraced strenuous workouts and the commitment to be an essential member of the Ramey Swim Team. Their efforts, motivation, and drive to be strong swimmers and respectful individuals is inspiring.
