On Tuesday, February 26 the Quantico Athletic Department celebrated their winter awards assembly with parents, players, and coaches.

For their participation in the sports program at our school, players received an athletic certificate. A select number of players; however, received special awards for either their contribution to the team or overall athletic prowess. Teams receiving recognition included: middle school cheer, boys and girls basketball, and varsity high school boys and girls basketball. As the Athletic Director, LtCol Paul Roy, commented, "MS Boys and Girls teams showed remarkable improvement as the year went on. Coach Hubert and Winderl tremendously improved the athletic skills of their players. The Varsity Boys and Girls basketball teams were both expecting rebuilding seasons however with newcomers on each team they came together well and ended up winning championships."

Indeed they did! The Varsity Girls team finished their regular season with an 17-1 record. They were Conference Co-Champions for the regular season, and Conference Tournament Champions in Girl's Division II. Several of the players made All Conference in the Delaney Athletic Conference (DAC). First team selections were Makayla Masini and Jesse Blaine and 2nd team selections were Shani Conolley and Leah Lee. In addition, Jesse Blaine was named as the DAC D-ll Player of the Year, with an impressive 28 point average per game!

The Varsity Boys team also finished their season strong and won the Conference Tournament Championship in Division-ll.

First Team All-Conference Players included the following: Gaven Thompson, Mason Cunningham, and Quintin Bellasse. Quintin also was selected as the Conference Tri-Player of the Year.
