Eagles Swim Team Places First in Invitational

On Saturday the Eagles swim team competed in their third swim meet at Campbellsville University for the Campbellsville Taylor County Invitational. The boys' swim team placed first overall out of 10 teams. The boys relay team of Christian Acevedo, Juan Acevedo, Noah Kopp and Jarrod Reiter placed first in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 2 minutes, 05.83 seconds and 400-meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:23.96.
The boys' 200-meter freestyle relay team of Jacob Dukovas, Gabriel Brown, John Vogel and Joseph Daniel placed fifth with a time of 2:12.77.
Juan was the top scorer for the boys, placing first in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 26.77 and first in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:08.39.
Christian placed first in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:00.99 and second in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:17.69.
Noah placed first in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:13.69 and third in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:03.04.
Reiter placed second in the breaststroke with a time of 1:18.53 and fourth in the butterfly with a time of 1:25.69.

The girls’ placed eighth out of 10 teams. The girls’ 200-meter medley relay team of Ivette Villalpando, Eleanor Abbott, Angeline DeJesus and Kayleigh Kopp placed sixth with a time of 2:55.83.|
The girls' 200-meter freestyle relay team of Villalpando, Eleanor Abbott, Sophia Torres and Kayleigh placed eighth with a time of 2:37.68.
Kayleigh was the top scorer for the girls, placing second in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 3:12.84 and third in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:25.16.
In the 50-meter freestyle Abbott placed 14th with a time of 39.15 and Emily Rich placed 15th with a time of 39.41 out of 38 swimmers.
Angeline DeJesus placed sixth in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:01.82.
The Eagles' swim team next meet is Saturday at the University of Louisville. The team will compete at the Rock the Block swim meet.
