Elliott Elementary School | November 14, 2018
Elliott Elementary School families had a jam-packed November 8th Family Night. The P.T.O. Book Sale and Hot Dog Supper set the stage for the event. Over twenty-five families shopped for books and had an early supper provided by the Elliott P.T.O. Afterwards families participated in a variety of activities with November celebration themes facilitated by teachers. Thanksgiving activities included making finger puppets and bookmarks as well as playing math games using number recognition and two and three addend addition. Reading and early math were incorporated in the Thanksgiving booklet and bead bracelet activity. One of the favorites of the evening was the “turkey table.” Children assembled turkeys with apples, raisins, marshmallows, and candy corn. To round it out, families reached out to honor our veterans and created patriotic cards for Veterans Day to send to disabled veterans in retirement and nursing homes in the area. It was an hour and a half packed with fun.
