Hampton Primary School
Fort Bragg, NC | April 10, 2018
April is the Month of the Military Child. The students at Hampton Primary School were celebrated in a big way on their first school day of April. Members of the Patriot Guard Riders joined our students and staff for a special opening ceremony followed by a concert with the All American Brass Band.
Shortly after arriving to school wearing red, white, and blue patriotic clothing, students and staff gathered together outside. We lined the front entryway anticipating the arrival of the Patriot Guard Riders. The excitement built as the motorcycles could be heard even before they were seen. The motorcyclists circled around for all to see and cheer. They brought with them a very special delivery, our United States flag.
Everyone stood while members of the Patriot Guard raised our flag. Following the leadership of two Hampton first grade students, we recited the Pledge of Allegiance. While our flag waved high on the flag pole, we proudly sang the National Anthem and our school song, Hampton Pride.
Afterwards, Hampton students, staff, and the Patriot Guard Riders were treated to a concert. The 82nd Airborne Divison All American Brass Band performed many entertaining numbers. The group of eight talented soldiers wowed the audience with their instrumental skills. Everyone was toe-tapping, nodding, clapping, and snapping along to the band.
This was a memorable ceremony and celebration to honor our special military children.
