Shughart Elementary: STEAMing Through Mysteries

During the week of May 8-12, Shughart Elementary students became detectives solving various crimes. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The prekindergarten and kindergarten students participated in "We're Going on a (Forensic) Bear Hunt. The first, second and third graders were charged with finding out "Who borrowed Mr. Bear?' All the while, fourth and fifth grade students were solving The Case of Felix's missing iPad. The week began with students observing various crime scenes. Next, evidence maps and clue boards were developed. Two days of crime scene lab testing followed. The week ended with classes naming the culprit or culprits all the while presenting the evidence to support their conclusion.
