Ms. Christina J. Young Named Principal of Yokota West ES at Yokota AB, Japan

Dr. Steven Bloom, Pacific East Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Christina J. Young as Principal of Yokota West ES at Yokota AB, Japan.

Ms. Young began her military community affiliation as a member of the United States Air Force for twelve years. While in the Air Force she obtained her associate's degree from the Community College of the Air Force. She then obtained her bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her teaching credential from Chapman University. Additionally, she obtained two master's degrees from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction: Technology and Educational Leadership.

Ms. Young began her teaching career in Ontario, California before moving to the Pendergast School District in Phoenix, Arizona. She taught for nine years before joining DoDEA as an Educational Technologist and later as a fifth grade teacher in Germany. She then moved to Okinawa, Japan, to be the Assistant Principal at Zukeran Elementary School on Camp Foster.

Ms. Young is excited to become a part of Yokota West Elementary School and looks forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to support and partner with the students, staff, and parents of the school, support the school's vision and goals, and be a part of the Yokota Air Base community.
