Dr. Quiana Chambers Named Kinnick HS Assistant Principal

Dr. Steven Bloom, Pacific East Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Quiana Chambers as Assistant Principal of Nile C. Kinnick HS at Yokosuka, Japan.

Dr. Quiana Chambers received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Fordham University. Dr. Chambers became an Internal Audit Associate at Price Water House Coopers, LLC. After two years, Quiana decided that she wanted to marry her true passions: empowering youth, acting and numbers. As a result, she became a math teacher. Within her first year of teaching, Dr. Chambers earned her Master’s in Mathematics Education from Herbert Lehman College. In 2010, Dr. Chambers earned her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, Atlanta. She also earned her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership in 2016 from Argosy University, Atlanta.

Dr. Quiana Chambers taught for a total of four years within the New York City Public School System as a middle and high school math teacher before migrating to Atlanta, Georgia. From 2007-2011, Dr. Chambers was privileged to be one of the founding teachers of a premier single gender middle school in the Atlanta Public Schools system. During her career at Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy (CSKYWLA), Dr. Chambers served as a Math Data Team Leader, Chair of the School Leadership Team, a mentor teacher, and in the 2010-2011 school year was awarded the prestigious honor of representing CSKYWLA as Teacher of the Year.

From 2011-2015, Dr. Chambers served as an Instructional Coach at Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary school in Atlanta. At this work site, Quiana worked directly with teachers and students to improve student achievement in mathematics. She also created and facilitated professional development for teachers at her school, cluster, region and district levels.

In 2015, Dr. Quiana Chambers relocated to the Pacific East District Superintendent’s office where she served as the Secondary Math Instructional Systems Specialist. In this position, Dr. Chambers was honored to work with the 20 schools in the Pacific East District in various capacities. Dr. Chambers is excited to join and serve the staff and students of Nile C. Kinnick High School and the Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka community.

Dr. Chambers is the mother of two beautiful, intelligent and talented children, Kayla and Josiah Chambers.
