EJ King Middle and High School
Dr. Norman obtained a Bachelor of Science (May 1999) and Master of
Science degree (August 2001) in Biology Education from Alabama
State University (ASU). In August 2006, she received a
graduate level certification in Educational Leadership from
ASU. Dr. Norman received her Doctor of Philosophy in
Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on strategies to
improve science achievement from Kansas State University in
Dr. Norman's teaching career began in January of
1999 as a science teacher for Montgomery Public Schools in
Alabama. As an Army spouse, she has taught in public schools in
Florida, Georgia, Kansas, and Texas before joining DoDEA. In
Florida, she taught various science subjects in Title I and International Baccalaureate (IB) settings before becoming a School Standards Coach at the middle school level while teaching biology as an adjunct professor at the University of North Florida. In Texas, Dr. Norman was an Assistant Principal at the Early College for Canutillo Independent School District while teaching
education courses at University of Texas-El Paso. While completing doctoral level coursework at Kansas State University, Dr. Norman served as the Associate Executive Director of Council for Public School Improvement (CPSI) for two years. Dr. Norman then PCS to Fort Benning, Georgia where she joined Muscogee County School District as a middle school science teacher for one year and school's science academic coach the following year while teaching science to elementary education majors at Columbus State University. She then became district science
academic coach until joining DoDEA at M.C. Perry High School in October of 2014. While at M.C. Perry High School, she was the Cheerleading Coach Fall 2015, Girls Basketball Coach Winter 2016, Far East Cheer Director Fall 2016, Co-Chairperson of Continuous School Improvement (CSI) 2016-17, and continues to serve as the New Teacher Mentor and CSI Chairperson. Dr. Norman has also been an online biology instructor for University of Phoenix since 2010.
Dr. Norman is the proud wife of Eric Norman, who retired from the Army after 24 years of military service, and currently the Sasebo Student Transportation Office Manager for DODEA. She is also the proud mother of one beautiful daughter, Erica, and two handsome young men: Sidney and Eric Jr. (Missouri). She has a passion for education and is looking forward to the opportunity to work with all of the stakeholders at E.J. King High School.
