DoDEA-Europe students and families,

I’m incredibly excited to welcome you to the 2022-23 school year!

If you are new to our region and/or this will be your first experience with DoDEA-Europe schools, please be assured our teachers and administrators will be there for your family to ensure a smooth transition. All of our students, families and employees know what it is like to be new to DoDEA-Europe and will be great resources for you and your family members.

No matter the country, community, or school, we strive to make the DoDEA-Europe learning experience second to none. Because for us, students are the heart of everything we do. With that in mind, I’d like to remind everyone to remain vigilant regarding health and safety protocols this year. While we have certainly made tremendous strides - with the help of our command and public health partners - we are not yet in the clear and it’s important we all continue to follow the recommended COVID protocols to maintain the health of our schools and communities. As we say in DoDEA: “We are all in this together.”

Please take some time to review the information regarding DoDEA’s COVID Operations Guidelines and Protocols

As we have all seen in the news and felt when shopping or filling our vehicles with gas, global economic pressures are currently impacting nearly every aspect of our lives. DoDEA is working hard to ensure that these variables impact our school operations as little as possible. On that note, you may notice some changes with regards to transportation (bus stop locations, timing of pick up & drop off, etc) this school year.

Many of these changes are relatively standard from school year to school year, while others are due to the unique economic pressures that exist at the moment. All of these logistical decisions are made to ensure the sustainability of our operations and with the needs of our students and families in mind. We truly appreciate everyone’s support and flexibility in this matter.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in your child’s education. We are proud to serve you in supporting the readiness of our military partners here in Europe. Please let my team know if there is anything we can do to assist you or your family. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and productive school year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Michelle Howard-Brahaney
