Official School Supply Guidelines

This is the only official list of supplies for students at DoDEA Europe schools. All other lists that may be in circulation, or requests for additional supplies, should be disregarded. Parents should follow only the DoDEA Europe official guidelines when purchasing school supplies for their children.
Each school may provide additional guidance to the parents on what to buy for their student that is more "grade specific". These lists are normally provided to the installation exchange, published on social media, and shared in school newsletters before school starts. Additionally, teachers will identify which items will be needed for their classroom. So please check with your school and your child's teacher to know exactly what items will be needed, prior to making any purchases.

Parents Responsibility:

For All Levels:

  • CDC-compliant Face Mask
  • 1 Headphones or Ear Buds with 3.5mm plug
  • Book bag or backpack
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Plastic supply pouch or box
  • Binder (3-inch and 3-ring)
  • Pens and pencils
  • Rubber eraser
  • Colored pencils
  • Glue (sticks, bottled)
  • Pocket folders
  • Highlighters
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Notebook dividers
  • Bound composition book
  • 12-inch ruler
  • Loose Leaf Paper

For Elementary Schools Only:

  • Paints (watercolor)
  • Colored Markers
  • Child's round end scissors
  • Crayons
  • Paint shirt

For Middle Schools only:

  • Colored Pencils
  • Scissors

For High Schools:

  • Colored Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Protractor
  • Compass

Schools Responsibility:

Notes

  • Please save your receipts, as all teachers may not require every item. 
  • Please check with your child's teacher prior to purchasing items.
  • Please label all supplies with your child’s name. 
  • All students are required to wear pants/shorts and gym shoes during PE class. 
  • Students are not permitted to share food (snacks or lunch).
