Grafenwoehr ES: Principal's Corner

Hello Grafenwoehr Elementary Parents,

  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education!

Our staff takes pride in creating a caring and creative environment. Together we will continue to focus on student achievement and providing rigorous and engaging academic and educational experiences that promote student growth and learning throughout the year. During the upcoming school year, I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning. Parent involvement plays a critical role in our school’s success. Ways to support and increase your child’s academic success include:

  • Make attendance a priority including limiting tardiness and absences
  • Stay informed of your student’s progress
  • Communicate often with your child’s teacher
  • Read with your child at least 20 minutes a day
  • Limit television and social media and encourage outside play
  • Review the school day with your child
  • Volunteer in the classroom, school events and join the PTA

Please see the attached school calendar- We have added all our professional development dates and half days so you can plan. Additionally, every Thursday students will be dismissed from school at 1:40 (instead of 2:40) for teacher collaboration. Buses will run accordingly.

I am also including a copy of the school calendar to hang on your refrigerator- this should be a great reference tool.
