Be a Bucket Filler!

What is bucket filling?

  • Bucket filling is a concept that teaches the importance of having empathy for others
  • Bucket filling teaches us to recognize the good qualities in self and others
  • The invisible bucket becomes the universal symbol of compassion and caring
  • The rewards of the bucket filling motivate intrinsically and extrinsically

How does it work?

  • From Friday to Thursday school personnel will acknowledge students who have 'filled a bucket' by writing their name on a bucket filler slip
  • Slips are handed in to the teachers and then to the counselor
  • On Friday morning each week, a bucket filler from each class is chosen.
  • Winners receive a certificate and prize
  • Winners are then able to eat lunch at a special table with a companion of their choice
