Library Services

The school library provides a variety of books for reading and reference.  Books may be checked out by the students. If a student loses or severely damages a book, the parents will be responsible for replacement.   Please feel free to visit our library and encourage your students to check out books!


The DoDEA School Library Information Center Program:

  • Provides access to print and non-print resource materials that are aligned to the DoDEA curriculum.

  • Facilitates library services and literacy programming that fosters a love of reading.

  • Defines the essential information literacy skills required for student achievement in the 21st century.

  • Collaborates with educators to design learning strategies and deliver instruction that meets the needs of the military child.


Information Resources and Databases

The Media Center has over 20 databases that students use as they learn about:

  • accessing information efficiently and effectively;

  • evaluating information critically and competently


MackinVIA is the Library Catalog which includes all the books and resources in our school library.

Encore is an online Library Catalog that has access to various online resources. Most of these resources need a username and password, which can be obtained from your classroom teacher or from the Information Specialist.

Scholastic Reading Counts has access to quizzes on many popular books to check for comprehension and understanding.
