March 27, 2018
Dear Heroes Families,
It has been a pleasure and honor to serve as your principal for the past three years. I have been very blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve all of you who give so completely of yourselves so that we can remain a safe and strong United States of America. We are the greatest country on Earth thanks to the brave men and women who serve in our military.
It seems like only yesterday I began my career in Heidelberg, Germany in 1983; but for everything there is a season. I wanted you to know I will retire from DoDEA on March 31, 2018, after serving military children and their families for the last thirty-five years. Every duty station has been an exciting experience and working with the military child has been so rewarding. My life is truly richer for the opportunity to touch the lives of our children and for being a part of supporting the military family.
Heroes ES is a special school filled with exceptional, caring and dedicated teachers and staff. I want to recognize and commend them for the important work they do for our children. Also, I want to thank Mr. Starrett for all his support during my absence. His hard work and dedication to our families and Team Heroes has been outstanding. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this dynamic school and community.
In closing, I want to thank you for all the thoughts and prayers over this past year. My health continues to improve, and I plan to continue to work with the military family in some capacity. Heroes ES will always hold a special place in my heart.
I wish you all the best in the future. God Bless. Warmest Regards,
Linda K. Shriner
