Principal's Message

Welcome to Ikego Elementary School. We are excited about the opportunity to work collaboratively with our parents, faculty and command in providing learning opportunities that support the highest student achievement.

Our students are our most valuable resource and learning is our business. High academic achievement is our number one goal. Our experienced educators and professionals dedicate their talents and energies to providing the best standards based educational programs that the Department of Defense Dependent Schools has to offer. In addition, we seek to enrich our children's lives by taking advantage of our unique setting in the beautiful, and welcoming country of Japan.

We welcome and encourage strong parent involvement in our school and I look forward to joining with the staff and working with parents on behalf of our children. Parents are our students' first teachers. Their continued active involvement is invaluable to work as classroom volunteers, assist with their homework, read to them, or join with them in celebrating a special event in their school lives. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Advisory Council (SAC) also provide parents many opportunities to volunteer in the school.

We are privileged to serve a group of people engaged in such vital work for our nation. It is an honor to contribute in whatever way we can to the education and success of your children.
