Ms. Mynda Massey-Vukovic - Kadena MS Principal

Mrs. Mynda Massey-Vukovic began her DoDEA career in the Pacific and is excited to return! She is looking forward to joining the staff of Kadena Middle School, in Okinawa Japan to work together with community partners and ensure the best educational and social/emotional opportunities for our students!

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is originally from Jacksonville, NC home to Camp Lejeune where her father completed his 30 year career in the USMC. Being herself a military child Mrs. Massey-Vukovic’s goal is to help the students and families of Kadena MS adjust to life abroad, while experiencing the best educational opportunities DoDEA has to offer. In her 25 year career, Mrs. Massey Vukovic has amassed a wealth of knowledge in the areas of leadership, curriculum and instruction, staff development, teacher mentoring and student success programming. Mrs. Massey-Vukovic holds two Masters Degrees (Curriculum and technology and Educational Leadership) and is currently in the Dissertation phase of her PhD in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy. Mrs. Massey-Vukovic believes that with this knowledge and her commitment to culturally responsive leadership she will be able to seamlessly integrate into the established culture of KMS and work with the staff and families to shape an exceptional educational community.

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is committed to the three C’s (Communication, Collaboration and Consistency) of successful leadership as they are paramount to the success of any educational program. Through her experiences as one of the founding administrators of Patch MS in Stuttgart Germany she has learned that policies and procedures based in restorative practices help middle level learners develop a well-rounded view of education and their place in the global community. It is her personal mission to ensure that students leave KMS poised for greatness, and prepared to seamlessly integrate into an ever changing global community.

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is accompanied by her husband, Aleksandar Vukovic and they are both looking forward to this exciting new adventure!

Ms. Natalya Cho - Kadena MS Assistant Principal

Mrs. Natalya Cho grew up traveling the world alongside her Air Force family, attending DoDEA schools in Spain, Sicily, Aviano and Panama. As an adult, Mrs. Cho earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Spanish and Social Studies from Eastern Washington University in 2006. She went on to begin her career in education with DoDEA, teaching 5th grade and elementary Spanish (FLES) at Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, Korea.

Mrs. Cho was involved in various leadership roles as a grade level chair and become a part of the Continuous School Improvement (CSI) program. In 2012, on a quest to expand her abilities and knowledge, she attained a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University.

In August 2012, she moved to Okinawa, Japan, where she has served as an elementary teacher at Kadena Elementary School and educational technologist at Kadena Middle School. As an educational technologist, she guided teachers in developing new professional attributes along with helping them to integrate technology into their curriculum. Mrs. Cho has taught several graduate level courses for DoDEA teachers studying Educational Technology and 21st Century Learning at University of San Diego, California.

Mrs. Cho is an Air Force veteran and is very familiar with military life, having experienced it as a military child and as an adult. It is Mrs. Cho's mission to promote servant leadership in her role as Assistant Principal at Kadena Middle School. Driven by this mission, she is committed to growing relationships with staff, teachers, parents and students, which is critical to guiding students to not only a successful grade school experience, but above it all, a fruitful and fulfilling future. Outside of her career, she enjoys photography, reading, traveling, and spending her free time with her husband of 11 years, Myongje, and their two children, Gianna and Daniela.
