Over the next three years, all students will improve reading proficiency as measure by annual DCAS.
Over the next three years, KES will implement effective professional learning collaboration teams that improve professional practice as evidenced by team minutes and the Europe East Collaboration Rubric.
Demonstrate a proficiency in reading measured by DoDEA Comprehensive Assessment (DCAS) Reading Scores: BAS and SRI.
Demonstrate a behavior of professional collaboration by 6/15/2018 as measured by the Europe East Collaboration Rubric and team minutes.
Interactive Read-Alouds/Guided Reading Groups
All teachers will conduct interactive read-alouds with students as a means to build fluent reading and comprehension skills. Students will participate in three or more interactive read-alouds each week, which enhance fluency and comprehension by modeling and supporting the use of proven strategies for activating background knowledge, developing vocabulary, integrating dimensions of fluency, asking questions, making inferences, and synthesizing and summarizing information.
1. Weekly professional collaboration sessions.
Educators will participate in weekly professional collaboration sessions that focus on the following 4 essential questions: What knowledge and skills should every student master as a result of this unit of study? How will we know when each student has mastered the essential knowledge and skills? How will we respond when some students do not learn? How will we extend, enrich, and personalize learning for students who are already proficient?
2. Build a collaborative culture.
Teams will build collaborative cultures that are sustainable, supportive, and result in professional growth.
