New Drop Off - Pick Up Point and Dismissal Procedures

Parents,

The project to re-route traffic in the school is now finished.  Starting Monday, September 17, 2018 the following procedures will be implemented:

  • All Sure Start, PSCD, and Kindergarten parents will have a sign identifying them as parents of one of the grade-levels mentioned.  Only parents of these students will be allowed to drive through the front driveway of the schools.  If you do not have your sign visible in your car, PMO will not allow you to enter the driveway.  If you have a child in Kindergarten and another in a higher grade, you can still drop off and pick up both of them in the front driveway, as long as you have your sign displayed in your car.  Please coordinate with your upper grade student so that traffic can flow easily.
  • All parents of students who are in 1st to 5th Grades who are brought to school via POV will be dropped off/picked up at the back of the schools (the old bus lane).  There are two vehicle lanes in the new drop off/pick up lane, please use those lanes so that the middle is cleared for through traffic.  Please give your child specific instructions on where to meet you in the afternoons.
    • M.C. Perry ES parents will use the lane closest to the schools.
    • Iwakuni ES parents will use the lane closest to the parking structure.
    • Parents who have children in both schools may choose either lane.

The following changes for students exiting the school will take place starting Monday, September 17, 2018:

  • All Sure Start, PSCD, and Kindergarten students will continue with the current arrival/dismissal procedures.
  • First Grade Students:
    • Students who take the bus will be walked by a teacher to the bus area.
    • Students who indicate that they are being picked up by a parent in a vehicle will be dismissed through the back doors of the school.
    • All students who walk home or ride their bikes home will be dismissed through the side door of the First Grade wing (by the football field).
  • Second Grade Students:
    • Students who take the bus will be walked to the bus area by a teacher.
    • Students who indicate that they are being picked up by a parent in a vehicle will be dismissed through the back doors of the school.
    • All students who walk home or ride their bikes home will be dismissed through the side door of the Second Grade Wing (by the middle breezeway).
  • Third, Fourth, & Fifth Grade Students:
    • Students who take the bus will be walked to the bus area by a teacher.
    • Students who indicate that they are being picked up by a parent in a vehicle will be dismissed through the back doors of Iwakuni ES.
    • All students who walk home or ride their bikes home will be dismissed through the front doors of Iwakuni ES.
