M.C. Perry PS: School Activities

All students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities whether they be academic or social in nature. These activities help to shape students and prepare them for lifelong success and part of a well-rounded education. Our School offers many activities for students to choose from.

Students must leave campus after school dismissal unless they have parent permission to remain on campus for after school activities and clubs. Students can sign-up for after school activities one once per semester, usually in September and in late January. Competition for extracurricular activity spots is stiff. Although we try to accommodate as many students as possible, the earlier you get your child's application submitted is better. However, students recommended by teachers as needing academic tutoring will take precedence.

Book Club

KINDERGARTEN (Monday)

We will read a different genre of book at each meeting and discuss characters and settings. We will make a craft related to our learning that we will bring home every meeting!

FIRST GRADE (Wednesday)

Come take a deep dive into reading as we read “Junie B. Jones 1st grader”. Where we will use illustrations to describe characters and retell key details.

Drama Club

Guitar Club

During our guitar club, the students will learn about proper care of a guitar, the parts of a guitar, how to play single notes and chords, and how to use them to learn how to play some simple songs.

Lego Club

Come join the First Lego League! This club will focus on completing different challenges using Legos. So, if you enjoy building Legos, being creative, and completing challenges then this club is for you!

Maker's Space

This club provides students the opportunity to design, create, build, and collaborate with various materials. The students can work on short-term or long-term projects over the course of the year.

In our 1st grade science club, we will talk about current science events in the news, discuss their classroom science activities, and work on hands-on science lessons each week.

Ukulele Club

Welcome to the first ukulele club at Perry Primary School. You can pick out your favorite color of ukulele and start strumming. We’ll even learn to play some easy chords and perform a few tunes.
