Willkommen in Deutschland! The Faculty and Staff of Netzaberg Middle School are looking forward to your arrival for SY 21-22.
The Grafenwoehr area has a rich history; the facility recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary! Over the last 100 years, local residents saw the town of Netzaberg completely destroyed in the 1930s and then rebuilt over the last few years. Elvis Presley was stationed here during his tour in the 1950s, and US, German, and NATO troops train here today. Approximately 80 years after its destruction by Hitler, the rebuilding of the Netzaberg community includes our school, Netzaberg Middle School. Grafenwoehr Middle School was a temporary home for two years while the Netzaberg facility was built. Like so many things in Germany, the Grafenwoehr Training Facility and the Netzaberg area are a beautiful mix of old and new. DODEA’s Vision and Mission are:
Excellence in Education for Every Student, Every Day, Everywhere Educate, Engage, and Empower military connected students to succeed in a dynamic world.
A wide range of programs are offered to expand the students' physical, cultural, and intellectual development. We also realize the importance of developing in each student an attitude of self-respect and self-worth.
Communication between the home and the school is very important to ensure maximum benefit in your child’s educational experience. We hope you will become involved in your child’s education through such programs as the PTSA, School Advisory Council (SAC) and our volunteer opportunities. Parental support is vital, and with your help, our new school year will be our very best! If you have any concerns about anything at school, please feel free to contact us to discuss those concerns. This handbook has been prepared to provide both students and parent’s information concerning our school policies and procedures. Please read this handbook carefully and keep it available for reference during the school year.
The partnership between home and school guarantees success for all students and your support is vital. As we form that partnership, we wish you and your children a successful and exciting 2021-2022 school year.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
