On July 15, 2020, DoDEA Guam schools based in Pacific South District will transition to Pacific West District. While largely transparent to parents and students, the move will provide more equitable academic and support resources with an even distribution of students and staff between DoDEA Pacific districts.
Our staff and students in Guam will continue to receive direct academic support in social studies, math/science and special education from the same Instructional Support Specialists located in the Guam Community Superintendent's office, while Pacific West District will now provide ISS support in the remaining contact areas.
The most visible change for Guam staff and students will be the transition from Mr. Jimmy Journey to Dr. Jeff Arrington as the District Superintendent. More information about the Pacific West District and Dr. Arrington can be found here.
District staffs from both Pacific South and Pacific West have been working over the past few months to make this a seamless transition, with minimal impact on school-level operations.
