DoDEA Pacific, Far East Virtual Cross Country Results
PACIFIC REGION — January 12, 2021 — The Department of Defense Education Activity - Pacific Region is pleased to announce the results of the first-ever virtual Far East Cross Country Championship.
Participating cross country teams each ran a 5k race on a regulation track, and submitted scores to the Far East Athletic Office. Each team had the flexibility to run its 5k any day between Nov. 21, 2020 and Jan. 8, 2021. To maintain integrity of the race and ensure each student athlete had equal advantage, results were not immediately published.
The top runner for the men at the virtual Far East Championship was Tyler Gaines, of EJ King High School, with a time of 16:59. The top runner for the women was Reagan Cheramie, of Yokota High School, with a time of 19:10.
Overall Team Results are as follows:
Division 1 Mens
Division 1 Womens
Division 2 Mens
Division 2 Womens
“Providing our student athletes with an outlet to race in the COVID-19 environment was very important to us,” said DoDEA Pacific Far East Athletic Program Coordinator Tom McKinney. “While not racing on the same course against one another, they still had the opportunity to compete for a Far East Championship.”
