New DODEA Pacific South Community Superintendent Selected

Ms. Gail Wiley. Pacific South District’s Guam Community Superintendent

OKINAWA, JAPAN — July 30, 2019 — OKINAWA, JAPAN – July 30, 2019  – Ms. Lois Rapp, Department of Defense Education Activity Pacific Director for Student Excellence, is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Gail Wiley as the Pacific South District’s Guam Community Superintendent.  Ms. Wiley previously served as the principal at Kadena Elementary School, Okinawa. 

Ms. Wiley received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and a Master’s degree in Special education from Long Island University in New York.  She completed post-graduate studies in Educational Leadership from Troy State University in Alabama.   

Ms. Wiley has been with DODEA for more than 30 years.  Her previous positions include classroom teacher, behavior Manager, Educational Perscriptionist, Reading Specialist, Teacher of the Learning Impaired, Child Study Committee Chairperson, Instructional System Specialist (Special Education), Assistant Principal, and Principal.
Ms Wiley replaces Jim Journey, who was appointed the South District’s superintendent of schools.
