Ms. Lorri Vallone, Principal of the NEW Bob Hope Elementary School.

OKINAWA, JAPAN — February 18, 2021 — The Pacific South DSO would like to introduce Ms. Lorri Vallone as Principal of the NEW Bob Hope Elementary School.

Mrs. Vallone comes to Bob Hope Elementary School after serving for three years as principal of Bob Hope Primary School. She brings 35 years of knowledge and experience in education to the newly constructed Bob Hope Elementary. Her life work has been focused on teaching children and leading educators, with student success as her primary goal.

Lorri (Lewis)Vallone was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She attended school in Toledo, graduating High School from E. L. Bowsher High School, and then she attended the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor of Education degree. Her first permanent teaching position was with Atlanta Public Schools. While teaching in Atlanta, she met and married her husband, Felix, who was in the Army.

Her experiences as a teacher, military spouse, and mother have taken her throughout the world, including five states, Germany, Italy, mainland Japan, and Okinawa. Mrs. Vallone joined DODEA in August, 2006, starting with Yokota Middle School, Tokyo, Japan. In 2016, Mrs.Vallone assumed the duties of an Assistant Principal at Kadena Elementary School. In that capacity, she worked as part of the administrative team that promoted 21st Century learning skills. After moving into the new Kadena Elementary in 2018, Mrs. Vallone was appointed principal at Bob Hope Primary School.

Mrs. Vallone’s education includes a Bachelor of Education degree from The University of Toledo. She also holds a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from The University of Scranton. Ms. Vallone remains current on the latest trends in public and private education. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Association of Gifted Children, the National Council for Teachers of English, and the National Council for the Social Studies. Mrs. Vallone was selected as the Texas Rising Star Gifted Education Teacher for Region 19. She is a fellow in the National Writing Project, and has written curriculum for the El Paso, TX Independent School District for their Gifted Education Program.

Mrs. Vallone has been married to her husband, Felix, an Army Retiree, for 33 years. They have two sons, one currently serving in the U.S. Army and the other a U.S. Air Force veteran and Air National Guard member. She has one grandchild, who has captured her heart.
